Chronicles of a fictional war: 002
The miss adventures of a novice woman in the filmmaking industry and her growth as a profesional.
Land of giants:
It’s romantic to see David against Goliath.
Several times have I felt insignificant in the face of my daily challenges and having the opportunity to overcome them by making a movie…
Well, that’s the human spirit!
Atomic Woman:
Alana Carlos is the concept made flesh.
Absolute dedication, affection, accurate organization skills and all this in order to carry the execution of an entire film. Few rookies dare to dream… Alana however, doesn’t dream. She acts! Armed with a sense of infinite posibilities and the structure to bring them down to the mortal world, her biggest obstacles were two things:
- Herself
- Coexisting with the giants that accompanied her
ATLAS:
Without purpose and structure…
Why live? It goes without saying, Alana’s eyes express her feelings with each hour that passes and the shots that are not taken. The crew depends on her, In her hands rests not only the final product, but the physical and mental well-being of the people.
How do I move faster?
How do I collaborate with the director?
Why are they going to listen to a recent graduate?
Doubt floods her head, with only brief moments to cry and begin her journey anew with the same charisma. I don’t know if she completely overcame her insecurities… I only know that the joy of her inner child kept her alive.
The shadow of the colossus:
Steps of titans, imposing voices.
Alana, like me, was another resident of Lilliput. Exposed to the elements and above all… The weight of experience brought forth by the titans on set. Harmonizing with the unstoppable vision of a director is not easy, understanding the cycles and experience of a director of photography is not simple.
Managing the participation of a dedicated actor, who in turn has a say on set…
It’s not just anything.
Tell me if you dare?
Spartans never die:
I’m not big because of what I build.
I’m not big for what I command.
I am great for what I give.
I am great for who I am.
Please do not remember Alana as a sweet, hyperactive or tense woman. Her hands never wavered, her spirit never faulted. I would ask of you that you remember that she walked with giants, remember that she gave her whole being to a beautiful mexican fantasy.
A small ounce of peace:
I don’t know what the future holds…
This woman is still working by my side but I wonder: “What will she do with what she has learned?” I hope that she carries herself with the same passion she brought to this project.
I hope you see the greatness in that smile that she carries with her, because it is the small things that conquer the great tests.
Now it’s my turn, to jump into the void.
I AM.. Alana
